Working with fur: Cutting faux fur requires a slightly different technique than cutting regular fabric. The goal is to preserve the natural appearance of the hair at the edges of the fur. The desired shape is lightly drawn with tailor's chalk or a disappearing marker on the back of the material. Pay attention to the direction of the hair. The material is carefully and gently cut from the back. Only one layer of material is worked with. After cutting through the fur base, the parts are gently separated, the hair will loosen and will not have sharp cut ends. Fur can also be sewn on a home sewing machine.
