We have tried: This natural, finely woven cotton material is designed for hot summer days. The fabric is pleasantly soft both to the touch and when worn, it has amazing breathability. We washed the muslin at the recommended temperature of 30 °C, it shrank by 5%. We cut and sewed a summer top from this material. Because the fabric is woven very loosely, it was necessary to flatten the material a little before cutting (stiff edges on top of each other) and it is also advisable to keep a larger seam allowance. When sewing, the muslin stretched a little, so you had to watch the shape of the cut and remeasure (straps, shape of the armhole, neckline, etc.), this is a small trick of muslin. We sewed with a 70 gauge machine needle. The fabric has an "intentionally creased" look, so the material doesn't need to be ironed, which is great for travel. After washing, we hung the sewn women's top on a hanger, where it dried beautifully and the product did not leave any unwanted marks after hanging it on the cord.
The fabric measurements needed for sewing basic garments and home textiles, can be found here .
We recommend pre-washing and precipitation (steam iron). The fabric can precipitate by up to 5 - 8%.
