Swimwear

By term swimwear we mean bathing suit you dress to stay near water and in water. It is used primarily for swimming, water sports and sunbathing. Did you know that Bikini had been used for athletic purposes already in ancient Rome? The first reports dates back from around 1400 BC. Two-piece women's clothing that strikingly resembled swimwear is also depicted on ancient frescoes found in Pompeii. (One-piece) swimsuit in the more modern concept can be found at the beginning of the 20th century. Surely you remember at least one black and white or colour film from the environment of ponds and dams, in which the women were wearing swimsuits that would conjure up a smile on your face as you see it funny and incomprehensible.

For the production of swimwear, materials of synthetic fibres are used whose basis are formed by polyamide, polyester or polyurethane. Often a combination of fibre types occurs. Swimwear can be divided into several groups depending on for whom they are intended and what it is used for. For example, women's swimsuits are further divided into one-or two-piece. Men's swimwear, on the other hand, is one-piece and many modern men do not wear traditional swimming trunks but they use swim shorts instead as they are much more interesting. Children´s swimwear is either one-piece, or two-piece, depending on which sex is going to wear it. They are usually decorated differently, have different fairy tale motives and they are in bold bright colours.
