You've certainly met so-called safety pin which is more complicated than his brother. The tip is as sharp as in classic pin but when inserted in the upper part, it is absolutely harmless. Well, only when it doesn´t open. Such a safety pin is used to join two materials. Surely you know the situation when something unexpected happens to your clothes and having no sewing kit at hand, only safety pin will save you.
