Candles are simple source of light. They have been used since the Middle Ages and they are still very popular. They work on principle of change of chemical energy of solid mass into light energy. Bee wax, paraffin or tallow is used as flammable material. Till discovery of kerosene and electrical lights, candles along with torches had been the only and crucial sources of light.

Candles are usually cylindrical. But today we can find many interesting shapes which will make your interior special. Other symmetrical, cylinder-like shapes - cones etc. - are available too. Candles may be also shaped in pyramid, prism or other irregular shapes which are characteristic for decorative candles. Among popular shapes you can also find balls and hearts expressing love to donee unless you buy it for yourself.

If you want to create special social atmosphere that open fire makes, you may use fragrant decorative candles on interesting glass candle mat in square shape. In our culture candles are laid on graves in memory of those who passed away. In Christmas time floating candles are used but tree candles to decorate Christmas tree were popular in the past.
