Put rivet through coarser fabric and insert it in its bottom part. Put underneath the bottom part softer but firm mat. Take hammer and knock in medium way on silver rivet. Not too much as it would destroy the brass bottom part; neither too little as the silver rivet would fall away. Just so-so. Silver rivet in "head" of brass part will "deform into bullet" and can´t be pull away and keeps. But if you knock insufficiently, it can fall away.
